Graduate Nursing Student Academy Conference

The Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) invites abstract submissions that characterize the conference theme along with the conference objectives. 

This year we are looking for abstract submissions for poster and podium presentations. 

Theme

Empowering Graduate Nurses: Strengthening Your Voice to Lead

Conference Objectives 

  • Develop skills that will strengthen your capacity to lead in professional settings. 
  • Assess and sharpen personal skillsets around communication and problem solving. 
  • Identify leadership development opportunities appropriate for your nursing career path.
  • Describe strategies for a successful transition into positions in practice, academia, and leadership. 
  • Evaluate opportunities to infuse mentorship in your professional development.

This conference is intended to provide a professional development opportunity for graduate nursing students studying topics of all kinds. High-quality abstracts for any research or practice topic of interest to the nursing discipline will be considered. However, of particular interest are poster presentations or podium presentations that reflect innovation and address key topics including:

  • Leadership development
  • Nursing innovation
  • Mentoring
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Social determinants of health 
  • Workforce challenges
  • Faculty development 
  • Understanding the next generation of nurses
  • Healthcare administration

Preparing Your Abstract for Submission

  • The abstract should include background information and address methods, programs, or practices. Strong submissions will demonstrate relevance to the conference theme. It also should include implications or recommendations for others who may be considering a similar approach.
  • Abstracts may highlight original research, quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice, or programmatic innovations. Formatting of the abstract should be consistent with the type of project being presented. 
  • Abstracts may have been presented elsewhere or published within the past two years. If this is the case, please update the material and make it unique to this event.
