As the 2025 Deans Annual Meeting, Student Policy Summit, and Hill Day conclude, we want to thank our AACN Advocates, members, and students for their engagement. Below are a few highlights: 2025 Student Policy Summit AACN’s 2025 Student Policy Summit included more than 275 baccalaureate and graduate level nursing students from 136 schools throughout 48 states and DC. During the two-day event, students attended live sessions focused on the federal policy process and nursing’s role in professional advocacy. Presenters included key fellows, Congressional staff, a former member of congress, and many more! During the Summit, students were able to interact directly with speakers as well as attend networking sessions to meet their peers across the nations before joining Deans for visits on Capitol Hill. 2025 Spring Hill Day Deans and students were able to travel up to Capitol Hill to meet with their federal policymakers. More than 475 total participants from 48 states share the needs of academic nursing on Monday, March 31. Nearly 300 messages were sent to Senate and House offices via AACN’s Action Alerts to help inform legislators about the need to support academic nursing.
