AACN Kicks Off its 50th Anniversary Year!

Since 1969, AACN has worked tirelessly to maintain its role as the leading catalyst for excellence and innovation in nursing education, research, and practice. Over the past five decades, we have expanded our representation from 121 member organizations to over 800 member schools of nursing at public and private universities nationwide, representing 513,000 students and 45,000 faculty members-a remarkable development.

Undoubtedly, we have come a long way, but it is important to note that this growth would not be possible without an endless commitment to nursing education, a vision for the future, and the people who make this all possible-you, our members!

As we kick off our 50th anniversary, we look back on this journey with a sense of joy and pride. It is time to celebrate! We encourage you to reflect on your experiences with AACN and share any photos, stories, contributions, and memories you've had throughout the years by emailing AACN Communications Assistant Cat Proulx at cproulx@aacnnursing.org.  Over the course of 2019 we will highlight these memories and, together, celebrate 50 years of AACN accomplishments and milestones.
