AACN Mourns the Loss of Dr. Arnold P. Gold Wednesday, January 24, 2018 AACN is mourning the loss of Dr. Arnold P. Gold, a pediatric neurologist who helped create a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering compassion between healthcare professionals and patients. Dr. Gold died January 23, 2018 at the age of 92. Dr. Gold and his wife, Sandra, co-founded The Arnold P. Gold Foundation with an aim toward sustaining the human connection in health care and ensuring all patients received compassionate care. Among its programs, since 2014 The Arnold P. Gold Foundation has partnered with AACN to fund White Coat Ceremonies at 260 schools of nursing nationwide.
