AACN Expands Partnership with Scrubin Uniforms to Offer Discounted Uniforms and PPE to Nursing Schools and Support for Student Leaders

New Giveback Opportunity Offered to Benefit School-Based Nursing Student Associations

Today, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and Scrubin Uniforms are pleased to announce a new incentive linked to our continued partnership to provide nursing schools, faculty, staff, and students with easy access to high quality scrubs, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE) at a highly discounted rate. Through this collaboration, Scrubin Uniforms will continue to create customized web portals for participating schools, which will allow students and staff to easily order the apparel and PPE needed to practice at various clinical training sites. Newly participating schools may also take advantage of a new opportunity to provide funding support to their student nursing association through a new giveback opportunity negotiated by AACN for member schools.

“Presenting a professional image is important for nursing students and faculty working with patients and providing healthcare services in hospitals, clinics, and across community settings,” said Dr. Deborah Trautman, President and Chief Executive Officer of AACN. “Through our collaboration with Scrubin Uniforms, we are providing a turnkey solution for our member schools to help ensure that students and faculty can easily order discounted scrubs, uniforms, and PPE that meet site-specific needs.”

Through this partnership, AACN member schools will work directly with Scrubin Uniforms to create an online apparel store, which will be accessible directly from each school’s website and will feature the exact items needed for on-site clinical training at hospitals and other settings requiring a uniform, corporate apparel or PPE. The apparel, which will be selected by individual schools, can be branded with each school’s logo to help students and staff present a professional image to patients receiving care. Participating schools will receive, at minimum, a 15% discount off the lowest advertised price for scrubs and uniforms. Since kicking off the program in 2020, participating schools have saved on average a minimum of 25% versus their prior uniform program.

As an additional incentive for schools to enroll in 2021, Scrubin Uniform will be offering an opportunity for a giveback to the school’s Student Nursing Association with a percentage of the sales returned directly to the school. “We look forward to continuing working directly with AACN’s 840 member institutions to help facilitate access to the apparel and PPE needed as part of the clinical education process, which is essential to preparing future nurses,” said Vicki Linn, Chief Executive Officer of Scrubin Uniforms. “My company is committed to tailoring our services to meet the individualized needs of nursing schools of all sizes from coast to coast.”
