University of Maryland Honors Late Faculty Member with DAISY Award Wednesday, January 9, 2019 At its graduation ceremony last month, the University of Maryland School of Nursing presented its first DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty posthumously to Dr. Debra L. Wiegand, former associate professor in the Department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health, who passed away in November. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty honors those who inspire their students to remember that nursing is much more than tasks and technology.
