Dr. Rita Trofino Elected to AACN Board of Directors

AACN is pleased to announce that Dr. Rita Trofino, chair of the Nursing Department and associate dean of the School of Health Sciences and Education at Saint Francis University, has been elected to the AACN Board of Directors. Dr. Trofino will serve as a Member-at-Large through March 27, 2023. AACN held a special election in August 2022 to fill an unexpired term on the Board with votes cast by member deans.

Dr. Trofino currently serves on AACN’s Faculty Development Conference Subcommittee and has previously served as chair of the Nomination Committee and member of the Membership Committee. She has been involved with AACN’s New Dean Mentor Program for five years and has served as a CCNE site visitor for 10 years, totaling 18 site visits. Dr. Trofino has been a faculty member at Saint Francis University for more than 20 years and has served as department chair for the past 12 years.
