ELNEC Updates: Celebrating 25 Years & Upcoming Opportunities

Green and silver ELNEC 25th anniversary logo

We pause to reflect on ELNEC’s unwavering dedication to palliative and end-of-life nursing care and the pioneering vision to address the needs of nursing schools. Led by Dr. Betty Ferrell, the exceptional ELNEC team has advanced palliative care education through innovative curriculum development, training resources, and faculty support. ELNEC equips nursing programs to integrate palliative care concepts early and effectively.

This upstream approach ensures that students become knowledgeable and confident in providing compassionate, holistic care to patients living with serious illness and those approaching the end of life. By prioritizing palliative care education, ELNEC is shaping a workforce better able to meet the complex physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their families and caregivers, ultimately improving the quality of care across healthcare settings.

On behalf of faculty across the country, Drs. Davis and Lippe express our heartfelt gratitude.
