2021 Virtual IPEC Institute
 
The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) will hold its next Institute virtually on October 12, 14, 19 and 21, 2021. The upcoming institute is geared toward interprofessional faculty teams and their academic and/or practice partners looking to advance their commitment to team-based care. This program is designed for educators and practitioners looking for tools and strategies to lead, develop, and implement existing work in the area of interprofessional education and collaborative practice. AACN will hold the first ever Transform conference December 2-4, 2021 in Dallas, TX. With sessions focused on The Future of Nursing Education: Innovation, Inclusion, and Influence, this special event will bring together faculty from baccalaureate and master’s programs with thought leaders across the spectrum of higher education and health care. 
 
Transform 2021 will showcase innovations focused on programs, courses, initiatives, and evaluation strategies that address the many changes and challenges in nursing education.
 
We welcome abstracts submissions related to the following topical areas:
  • Academic Nursing: Excellence and Innovation
  • Leading and Advancing Improvements in Health, Health Care, and Higher Education
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Faculty Scholars Grant Application Deadline Approaching

The Foundation for Academic Nursing, the philanthropic arm of AACN, recently announced a second round of funding for the AACN Faculty Scholars Grant Program. The program is aimed at highlighting the innovative work being led by nurse educators to redesign teaching and learning at AACN member schools. 
 
Two $25,000 faculty grants will be awarded this year. The focus of proposed scholarly activities should reflect current issues in nursing education or practice and support of AACN’s strategic priorities.
 
Application Deadline: August 6, 2021.
 

Application Cycle Open for the Diversity Leadership Institute

AACN is pleased announce the opening of the application cycle for the second Diversity Leadership Institute. The central focus of the Diversity Leadership Institute is to provide an overview of the evolution of diversity and inclusion and the role of Diversity Officers in academic nursing and nursing practice.

Recognize Your Graduate Students by Submitting a Nomination
The past year has had a profound impact on the academic nursing community and the future of nursing education. Now, more than ever, it’s important to uplift outstanding work by students preparing to enter the field. 
 
AACN and the Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) are accepting nominations for the following awards: 
 
The GNSA Award for PhD-DNP Collaboration Excellence recognizes excellence in collaboration among students in PhD and DNP programs. Award recipients will offer examples for how future doctoral students can collaborate in ways that advance nursing science and practice.

The Outstanding PhD/DNS Dissertations and DNP Project Awards showcases outstanding dissertations and DNP projects completed by students in research- and practice-focused doctoral programs. Many doctoral students are advancing ground-breaking research and practice innovations that are worthy of national recognition and could serve as exemplars for other students to emulate.
