NursingCAS Connects Students to Open Seats in Nursing Schools

AACN established NursingCAS, the centralized application service for nursing, to maximize capacity in schools of nursing and fill available seats. For schools that turn away applicants, NursingCAS provides free web-based admission tools to effectively manage a large pool of interested students. For schools with open seats, NursingCAS can point students directly to your programs and facilitate the application process.

NursingCAS provides vital information to prospective nursing students about the admission requirements of participating programs and a mechanism to notify applicants about programs with available space and upcoming recruitment events. AACN encourages your school to join the more than 250 nursing programs already participating in this national initiative.

AACN is currently accepting applications from schools looking to join NursingCAS for the 2018 – 2019 Application Cycle, which opens on August 15. Those interested must submit the Participation Agreement (PDF or online version) by June 1 so the NursingCAS team can get you started and set up in time for the next cycle’s launch. CB Bridges Facilitates the Clinical Education of Nursing Students

CastleBranch Bridges (CB Bridges) is designed to facilitate the clinical education of nurses and ensure quality outcomes. Through a partnership announced last fall, nursing schools affiliated with AACN can gain access to this comprehensive easy-to-use online platform designed to streamline each phase of a student’s clinical journey from compliance tracking, clinical placements and scheduling, site orientation, skills assessment, and evaluation. This innovative platform will help AACN schools, students, and healthcare facilities collaborate to track milestones and monitor achievement along the nursing education continuum.

In addition to positioning students for success, this new partnership will enable AACN to better understand and identify best practice learnings related to clinical nursing education from the CB Bridges aggregate data. These best practices will be shared with leaders within academic nursing to further improve and standardize the clinical rotation process.
