9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Removing the Blinders to Myself Even the best nursing leaders in academia or practice struggle to create a clear vision of themselves, their organizations, and their impact on stakeholders. Is your vision and brand what you want them to be? Is your team brand what you want it to be? Do others see your brand as you do? Whether you’re building a personal brand for yourself or for a team, leadership starts by seeing your goals clearly, identifying potential blinders, and removing those blinders to analyze your personal brand. Together, we will see things in a new way to intentionally create the personal brand you desire. (Break from 10:15-10:45 a.m.)
8:00-9:00 a.m. Light Continental Breakfast
9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Removing the Blinders to My Surroundings After a year of working in an academic nursing institution, it’s easy to lose sight of the beauty around us. We must be intentional to clearly see the surroundings in our immediate environment and how they shape our culture. This session will help you see what surrounds you, explore your culture, and why it matters. We will identify key behaviors to influence our surroundings and create our desired culture of excellence in academic nursing. (Break from 10:15-10:45 a.m.)
9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Seeing a Preferred Future When blinders to ourselves and our surroundings are removed, we have a clear view of what lies ahead. As academic nursing leaders, the transition to the new Essentials and competency-based education has been driving change at our schools. In this session, we will look at the value of partnerships as part of that driving change. Why are partnerships needed and what is their value? Through the lens of coaching, you will see opportunities to advance your school’s mission and achieve immediate and lasting success. (Break from 10:15-10:45 a.m.)
Summer Seminar participants are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD).
